Celebrating Canada’s Eventing Olympians

OEA’s province-wide patriotic XC run

On Sunday, July 28, there are two EC-sanctioned horse trials (HTs) on the schedule in Ontario – in the east at Stevens Creek Farm and in the west at Glenarden Farms.

Did you know, that on the same day in Paris, members of our Canadian Olympic Eventing Team will ride their cross-country test?

So, don’t put away your red and white / maple-leaf- adorned outfits quite yet! They will come in handy for our fun “Celebrating Canada’s Eventing Olympians” initiative.

The OEA and our two competition organizers invite all riders entering the HTs at Stevens Creek Farm and Glenarden Farm on Sunday, July 28 to create a winning patriotic ‘Canadian’ cross country (XC) look in red and white, to show your support for Canada’s team.

Judges will be determined by the organizers at each location and the winner at each venue will receive a custom XC outfit (a hat cover and a XC shirt) generously offered by our fabulous sponsor, KC Equestrian Colours.

And that’s not all!

For inspiration, once the HTs get underway, we plan to play the XC feed from Paris, starting at 10 a.m. in both the east and the west (contingent only on sorting out a few practicalities related to technology at each venue).

You’ll be invited to wander in and out of the viewing area as your schedule permits during the day to ‘cheer on’ our Canadian athletes! Refreshments will be served, and it will all be free of charge!

We look forward to seeing you at the HT that is closest to you on the 28th of July!
