To begin my recap, I must thank the YRU25 committee for this fabulous grant. It has helped me continue my training in pursuit of my goals of competing at a high level. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the wonderful opportunities! My horse Hippique Abu, known around the barn as Jonty, and I have benefited greatly. The money given to me by the YRU25 grant has been put towards trailering to off-property venues such as Ten-Sixty farms for jump schooling and lessons with Ian Roberts in which we covered dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. We have made progress in all of these phases. While there has been overall progress, some specifics are worth mentioning. We have worked on getting greater energy in dressage to improve Jonty’s gaits, the extended trot in particular. In showjumping we have worked on pace and flow in a course, while Cross Country we have worked on more technical questions at a greater speed. I recently made the leap to the 1M15 jumper class which was a highlight of my summer, one that was greatly helped by this program. While there is much to improve on, good progress has been made to achieve my goals. Thank you to everyone on the YRU25 committee! Credits to my grandfather Fred Frost for the jump photos and Lynn Bartlett for the fall photo
