OEA President’s Message – Summer 2020

Good Morning OEA Members

Well, 2020 is certainly not the season that we had all envisioned. It has definitely been a year of uncertainty and I’d like to personally thank you for sticking it out with us.

With rider and horse safety our foremost consideration, and always considering value for members, your OEA Board of Directors has been working hard to salvage this season. OEA has contributed to EC’s lobby movement on behalf of riding schools and horse farms.

We revised the conditions of our $1500 CIP for Organizers to be, for 2020 only, a grant. OEA has been coordinating discussions with Organizers to help navigate the minefield of COVID-19 competition.

We recognize that 2020 will be, at best, a shortened season and as such we have extended 2020 OEA memberships to 2021. With patience, flexibility, cooperation, and kindness from all we will persevere and get through. We ride forward. Forward we go.
