Happy Summer everyone!
Entries opened for the summer Horse Trials and CCI at Will O’Wind today.
We have not cancelled the event, hoping to be able to offer something for all levels on July 4th and 5th .
Both EC and FEI have given us permission to run as long as the Federal and Provincial guidelines allow it. We are currently waiting for Ontario to open more sporting events. We’re glad to hear today that public pools and gymnasiums are open, one step closer to equestrian competitions.
Things will be very different for the event if we do get clearance to proceed in July. Only competitors and possibly a groom will be allowed on the property, no family members, no owners, no pets, no spectators. This will put a huge strain on our volunteer staff (also cut in half), so please be prepared to follow the new rules. If you show up with family, friends or dogs in your truck you will not be allowed on the property.
We are not certain we will have clearance to proceed by the start of July, but we must be ready if we get permission. To this end, we must have a true and final number of competitors, therefore, our closing date will change to June 15th. No entries will be accepted after closing date. We will work with our secretary to determine how your payments will be handled.
Obviously we have some expenses that must be covered whether we run or not. These may include secretarial fee, course design and set, plus any other outside help we have to contract, a portion of your fee will be non-refundable to help cover costs.
Entry fees have not changed EC has not changed their levy policy, and drug test fee for FEI is still payable. No stabling will be provided on grounds.
Time schedule in omnibus does not apply. We will send a new, revised timetable for the event soon.
